WHAT IS HYPNOTHERAPY AND WHAT HAPPENS
IN A SESSION?
Hypnotherapy is an effective way to change unwanted patterns, limiting beliefs, old traumas, fears and negative behaviors. By accessing the subconscious mind, which controls 88% of our behavior, we can change our negative beliefs and habits and replace them with new, healthy and empowering ones. Even illness, pain or irregular body functions can be improved or eradicated.
In a hypnotherapy session, I listen to your issues and desires for change. Sometimes a talk therapy such as Voice Dialogue is facilitated for you, to help you get clear on feelings and agendas of the separate parts of your selves. Then I bring you into a light to moderate trance and describe a meditative visualization journey, weaving in your goals and desired changes. Suggestions for improved behavior are made and anchored in your consciousness, and you emerge from the trance. The changed behavior and new habits are experienced in daily life, sometimes immediately and sometimes gradually.
Additional techniques, such as Alchemical Hypnotherapy and guides work, bring an inner guide, inner ideal mother or father, or inner healer into the visualization journey to change old feelings and create new and positive experiences. Non-trance techniques, such as Neuro-linguistic Programming (NLP), may also be used to effect change. In NLP, I guide you to describe old behavior and then use various methods to create the new, desired behavior, guiding you to use body movement and speech to fully encode the new habits into the neurological system.
In a hypnotherapy trance, you are always in control and will never do or say anything that would conflict with the conscious mind.
